Privacy Policy and Terms of Service — Startup2Unicorn

This page explains how Startup2Unicorn ("we", "us", "our") handles information and the terms on which we offer our services. It covers:

  • our website, https://www.startup2unicorn.com, and our marketing and growth services for clients;

  • the mobile applications we publish (each an "App"), including Sadhak (साधक) on Google Play.

It has three parts: Part A is the Privacy Policy for everything we do, Part B lists what each App collects, and Part C is the Terms of Service for our Apps.

 

Part A — Privacy Policy

1. Our approach

  • We collect only what we need to provide our website, services and Apps, and to improve them.

  • We do not sell, trade or rent personal data.

  • Our Apps show no third-party advertising unless the App's section in Part B says so.

  • In our Apps, personal information you enter stays on your device wherever possible.

 

2. Information we collect

On our website and for our agency services

  • Information you give us when you fill out a contact form, book a consultation, subscribe to our newsletter or request a service or audit: name, email address, phone number, company name and any other details you share.

  • Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages and referring URLs, through cookies and analytics tools.

In our Apps

Depending on the App, we may collect:

  • Usage information: which features and content you open, searches inside the App and similar in-app activity, without your name.

  • Device information: an app-instance identifier, a push-notification token, device model, operating system version and app version.

  • Approximate location: only if an App needs it for a feature (for example local sunrise times), and only at city level.

  • Information you send us: for example, an email for support.

Part B lists exactly what each App collects.

 

3. How we use information

  • To respond to enquiries and deliver our services.

  • To provide App features and send notifications you have turned on.

  • To understand, in aggregate, how our website and Apps are used, and improve them.

  • To send updates, marketing communication and offers, only if you opt in.

  • To keep our website, Apps and services secure and prevent fraud.

 

4. Cookies and tracking on the website

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyse traffic and personalise content. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then work less well. Our Apps do not use the Android advertising ID.

 

5. Sharing

We share information only:

  • with service providers who help us run our website, services and Apps, under confidentiality obligations and only for that purpose. These include website hosting, analytics, email, database, cloud hosting and push-notification providers (for example Wix, Google Analytics, Google Firebase, Supabase and Vercel);

  • when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, clients or ourselves;

  • in a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

 

6. Third-party links and content

Our website may link to other sites, and our Apps may show content hosted by others, such as YouTube videos and live streams. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices. For YouTube, see https://policies.google.com/privacy.

 

7. Data security

Data sent to and from our website and Apps is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

 

8. Data retention

We keep enquiry and client information for as long as needed to serve you and meet legal obligations. App usage information is kept no longer than 24 months, then deleted or anonymised. Information stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the App.

 

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent (including for marketing communication), by writing to the contact below. We respond within 30 days. Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) or another law gives you further rights, we honour them.

In our Apps you can also clear what you entered in the App's settings, turn notifications off in Android settings, or uninstall the App to remove its data from your device.

 

10. Children

Our website, services and Apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we will delete it.

 

11. Payments

If an App offers payments, they are processed by Google Play or a named payment processor. We never receive or store your full card or bank details. Part B says whether payments are enabled in each App.

 

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when our services change or a new App is added. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced on this page or inside the App.

 

Part B — What each App collects

Sadhak (साधक) — Daily devotional companion

Google Play package: com.sadhak.bhakti.app

Sadhak offers daily darshan, aarti, bhajan, mantra jap, Bhagavad Gita, panchang, live temple darshan and talks by spiritual teachers. No account or login is needed.

Stays only on your device (never sent to us):

  • your name, gotra, date of birth and kuldevta;

  • your jap counts, streaks, beads, vows (sankalp), vrat and seva records;

  • photos you add to seva entries or take with the tilak camera;

  • favourites, downloads and listening history.

 

Collected by us:

City you select (approximate location). We use it to show the panchang and sunrise and sunset times for your place. It is sent with the request and is not stored with any identity.

App activity (content played, jap counts, screens opened and in-app searches). We use it to understand which content and features are used and to improve the App. No name or contact details are attached.

Your chosen Aradhya (ishta deity), if you pick one. We use it to show that deity's darshan first on Home. Choosing one is optional, and it is used only to build the response, not stored.

​

App-instance ID and push-notification token. We use them for analytics and to deliver the notifications you turn on. They are handled through Google Firebase.

Not collected: email, phone number, contacts, precise GPS location, photos, financial information or health information.

​

Advertising: none; Sadhak does not use the Android advertising ID.

Payments: none at present. If this changes, this section will be updated first.

Third parties used: Google Firebase (analytics and push notifications), Supabase (content database), Vercel (hosting), YouTube (live darshan and guru videos).

Deleting Sadhak data: uninstall the App or clear its data in Android

settings to remove everything on your device. To ask us to delete usage data

linked to your device, email support@startup2unicorn.com with the subject

"Sadhak data deletion".

Part C — Terms of Service for our Apps

By downloading or using an App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You may use an App if you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or resell the App, except where the law expressly allows it;

  • extract, scrape or republish the App's content (text, audio, images, wallpapers, translations) for commercial use;

  • misuse the App, for example by sending automated requests, interfering with its servers or attempting unauthorised access;

  • use the App for anything unlawful, or to hurt the religious sentiments of others.

 

4. Content and intellectual property

The App, its design, code, logos, name, original text, translations, illustrations and compilations belong to Startup2Unicorn or its licensors and are protected by law. Traditional scriptures, mantras, aartis and prayers are shared heritage; our specific renderings, translations, recordings and artwork remain ours or our licensors'. Wallpapers and share cards may be downloaded and shared for personal, non-commercial use. If you believe something in an App infringes your rights, write to us and we will review it promptly.

 

5. Third-party content

Some Apps show content from others, such as YouTube videos, temple live streams and official channels of spiritual teachers. We do not own or control that content; its owners are responsible for it and their terms apply (for YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). Showing it does not mean we endorse every view expressed in it.

 

6. Information, not professional advice

App content is for general, devotional and informational purposes. It is not medical, health, legal, financial or astrological advice. For fasts (vrat) and any practice that affects your health, consult a doctor if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, elderly or unsure.

 

7. Accuracy

We work to keep dates, timings and translations correct, but panchang, tithi, sunrise, rahukaal and festival dates can differ by tradition and place. Please confirm important religious dates and timings with your local temple or priest.

 

8. Payments

If an App offers purchases, subscriptions or contributions, they are handled by Google Play or a named payment processor under its terms and the refund terms shown at purchase. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated. Voluntary contributions support the App and are not donations to a registered charity unless stated.

 

9. App-specific terms: Sadhak

  • Deity images are artistic renderings for devotion. Gita translations and katha texts are our own renderings for easy reading, not authoritative translations.

  • Live streams and videos come from temples' and teachers' own official YouTube channels; live status may be delayed, and a stream may be unavailable when its owner is off air.

  • Streaks, beads and rewards are motivational features stored on your device. They have no monetary value, cannot be transferred, and may be lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.

  • Reminders and the temple alarm depend on your phone's notification, alarm and battery settings.

 

10. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features or content, and may suspend or discontinue an App, at any time. We will try to announce significant changes inside the App. Some features need an internet connection.

 

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Apps are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors.

 

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Startup2Unicorn is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use an App. Our total liability for any claim relating to an App is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing.

 

13. Termination

You may stop using and uninstall an App at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Sections 4, 6, 11, 12 and 14 continue to apply after termination.

 

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights you have under applicable law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.

 

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use an App after a change means you accept it.
